About

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life. It’s a defining moment. It’s the first day of your life together. It’s the foundation of your family history. You want that story told beautifully and memorably.

Photojournalism is not a style of photography. It is a means of telling a story. That’s what we do at Scape Photos, we tell your story. Over the last 15 years, we’ve made documentary photographs for a living. We’ve worked for newspapers and magazines. We’ve published books and displayed work in galleries. We’ve covered stories all over the globe. We know how to blend into the background and allow the beauty of real life to happen. We adapt to any situation, any problem, any moment, and make memorable photographs.

Good photographs do many things.

• At the most basic level, pictures show what someone or someplace looked like. We can do that. But, so can any an amateur with a decent camera.

• Photographs also capture what was happening. This is a little more difficult because it requires being in the right place at the right time. This is more than knowing when the bride will walk down the aisle. It’s something more subtle. It is about being in the right place to witness a tiny smile, a moment of anticipation, nervousness, joy. Not all photographers anticipate moments. We do.

• The greatest photographs communicate the feeling of what it was like to be there. This is the most difficult to achieve. It takes combining all the elements mentioned thus far, and adding an appreciation of light, composition and lensing. This is what we strive for in every single photograph we take.

Please consider hiring Scape Photos to create the document of your wedding day.
